The inshore fishing has been good this past week, especially early morning with catches of redfish, flounder, and a few speckled trout. The redfish bite has been really good. We have been catching the reds back in the creeks, schooled up on the flats, and in deeper water along shelly bottoms in the lower Cape

The inshore action in the lower Cape Fear has been a little hit-or miss the past couple of weeks, with a couple of good days followed by a tough one. The hard southwest winds have made it tough on the fishing, especially the sightcasting for redfish. The fishing has shown a good sign of improvement
